Joey and Melanie Acker are children's book authors, educators, and the creators of Ackers' Books. Before becoming public school teachers, they both worked in daycare settings, where their passion for helping children learn and grow began. They have been married for 20 years and have two children. Both hold bachelor's and master's degrees in education, and Melanie is also a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Together, they created the Thoughtful Bots™ series to help children understand emotions and develop social skills, as well as The Wonder Who Crew™, a collection of imaginative picture books celebrating educators, families, and everyday heroes.

Joey also writes and illustrates the bestselling Worst World Works™ series, featuring Nameless the Rock™, a reluctant character who finds himself stuck in the worst books in the whole entire world. Their stories combine humor, creativity, and educational experience to make reading memorable for children, parents, and teachers.
